Technical characteristics

VEO single row deep groove radial ball bearings are non-separable bearings.
They consist of an inner and outer ring equipped with  deep  groove  raceways.Thus  this  design allows the deep groove ball bearings carrying axial  load  in  both  directions,not  only  radial loads.This characteristic makes the deep groove ball very versatile for different applications.
The single row deep groove ball bearings are able to operate at high or even very high speeds,in  relation to any of the other types of bearings. They are verydurable and they require very little maintenance.
The single row deep groove ball bearings are the most widely used type of bearings.
Their main dimensions are standardized in DIN 616 and DIN 625-1.

 

Standard design variants

The VEO single row deep groove ball are available in a wide variety of standard designs.
Can be supplied in open or sealed design.The open design are themost suitable for high speeds.  Within the sealed,VEO has different standardized designs depending on the characteristics of each particular application (see the section "Seals and shields").In case of any doubt contact with the Applications Engineering department of VEO.
Because ofmanufacturing reasons,open bearings may have recesses in the outer ring as the rings which are produced on sealed and shielded ver- sions,although they do not incorporate seals or shields(Fig.1)

 

In addition,VEO can supply on request,single row deep groove ball bearings with different desig- ns and materials;i.e.bearings with a slot in the outer ring (N suffix)to accommodate the corres- ponding  snap(or   retaining)rings,bearings  for electric motor with better running accuracy and lower noise (suffix-CE10),etc.

 

 

Misalignment

Due to the  geometry  of the  single  row  deep groove ball bearings the capacity of accomodating misalignments is very limited,therefore,supports should be properly aligned.
Misalignment errors must be taken in mind,as these errors lead to an inappropriate rolling of the balls,causes significant additional forces,re- duces the bearing service life and generates in- creased noise levels.
The permissible angular misalignment between the inner and outer rings depends on:the size of the  bearing,design,applied  forces,bearing's radial clearance...Due to the complex relationhip between these and other factors,they cannot be given generally applicable specific values.The customer must take special care when mounting bearings.

 

Tolerances

VEO single row deep groove ball bearings are ma- nufactured with Normal tolerance class(PN)as standard.
It  can  be  supplied  on  request,in  applications where precision is critical,single row deep gro- ove ball bearings with tighter tolerances (P6,P5, P4 and P2)
The tolerances for these bearings are according to ISO 492:2002 and are shown in the correspon- ding tables displayed in the introduction.

 

Minimum load

For the correct operation of VEO single row deep groove ball bearings a minimum radial load is needed.This load will be essential in high speed applications,if they will be sudden changes in acceleration or if there are sudden changes in the direction ofthe loads.
The required minimum radial load for the single row deep grooveball bearings must be at least 1% of the dynamic load rating Cr.

Axial load carrying capacity

VEO single row deep groove ball bearings are sui tablefor carrying axial loads.
If these bearings are going to be subjected mainly to axial loads,this value should not exceed for most of the bearings the 50%of the static load capacity (C₀).
For small bearing (d<12 mm)the axial load must not exceed the value of 20%of the static load capacity (C₀)
Submittingthe bearing to an excessive axial dy- namic load bearing will decrease the bearing life significantly and in a non assessable way.
In any case,axially loaded VEO single row deep groove ball bearings require additionally:
·Adequate lubrication ·No   shock   loads
·Sufficient heat dissipation
·Adequate support of the bearing flanges by the adjacent parts

 

Equivalent dynamic bearing load

In the case of VEO single row deep groove ball bearings,the following formulas applies:

The values of the X andY factors depend on the relationship Fa/C 。.Where Fa is the axial force applied on the bearing and C。is the static load in the following table(Table 2). Theratingse values and the
