Technical characteristics

VEO single row deep groove ball bearings with fi- lling slots are non-separable bearings.

They consist of an inner and outer ring equipped with one flling slot each,to enable incorporating more and larger balls than in single row deep gro- ove ball bearings.

Thank to the  designing,single  row  with filling slots bearings allow greater radial load,thereby having more radial load capacity.On the con- trary,the axial load that these bearings can carry is

affected,as the speeds that they can operate. They are less than the speeds that the single row deep groove ball bearings can support.

Their main dimensions are standardized in ISO 15:1998.

Standard design variants

The VEO single row deep groove ball bearings with fillingslots are available in a wide variety of stan- dard designs.

Single row deep groove ball bearings can be su-pplied opened or sealed.

Because ofmanufacturing reasons,open bearings may have recesses in the outer ring,although they do not incorporate shields (Fig.1).

In  addition,VEO can supply on request,single row deep groove ball bearings with flling slots with different designs  and  materials;i.e.bearingswith a slot in the outer ring  (N suffix)to accommodate  the   corresponding    snap(or   retaining)rings.

Misalignment

Due to thegeometry of the single row deep gro- ove ball bearings with filling slots,the capacity of accommodating misalignments is very limited,as the  standard ball    

bearings.Therefore,supports should  be  properly  aligned. Misalignment   errors   must   be   taken   in   mind,as these  errors  will   lead  to   an  inappropriate  rolling of  the   balls,causing  

significant   additional   forces that  reduce  the  bearing  service  life  and  generate increased  noise  levels.A  maximum  misalignment of 2 to 5  minutes  may  be  acceptable.

The permissible angular misalignment between the inner and the outer rings depends on:the size of the  bearing,design,applied  forces,bearing's radial clearance...Due to the complex relations

between these and other factors,they cannot be given generally applicable specific values.The customer must take special care when mounting bearings.

Tolerances

VEO single row deep groove ball bearings with fi- lling slots are manufactured with normal toleran- ce class (PN)as standard.

It  can  be  supplied  on  request,in  applications where precision is critical single row deep groove ball bearings with tighter tolerances

The tolerances for these bearings are according to ISO 492:2002 and are shown in the corresponding tables displayed in the Introduction chapter.

Cages

VEO single row deep groove ball bearings with filling slots are fitted with pressed sheet steel cage.

Supplementary  designations

The product tables show the standardized bea- ring configurations updated on the edition of this catalogue.These standardized configurations co- rrespond to suffix or suffixes of eachbearing.
In any case,VEO can offer,under requirement, alternative designs,comprising the ones showed in  the  following  table  or  many  others,whose mention exceeds the purpose of the present ca- talogue,and can be found in specific technical publications of concrete applications or series of specific bearings.
